If you subscribe to the 49Grey blog, we collect your email address to send you new essays, blog updates, and as the clothing line launch approaches, related announcements. We use MailerLite to manage our email list and send communications. Your email address is stored securely with MailerLite and is not sold, rented, or shared with any other third party for their own marketing purposes. If you upload images to the website, please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter your details when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies are removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged into that website.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.

Your email address, if you subscribe to our list, is shared only with MailerLite, our email service provider, solely for the purpose of sending you the communications you signed up for.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you subscribe to our email list, we retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your information is removed or marked inactive according to MailerLite’s data retention practices.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have left a comment on this site or subscribed to our email list, you can request an exported copy of the personal data we hold about you. To make either request, contact us at hello@49grey.com.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service.
